Stop Automatic Corrections

Microsoft Excel 2003's AutoCorrect feature can occasionally be a double-edged sword. Although it can be quite handy at catching embarrassing typos, there are occasions when AutoCorrect changes an entry against your wishes.

To disable AutoCorrect, click the Tools pull-down menu and AutoCorrect Options. Click the AutoCorrect tab. Click the Replace Text As You Type check box so that it's unchecked and OK. If you don't want to completely disable AutoCorrect, there are a number of specific AutoCorrect options (for example, Capitalize First Letter Of Sentences) you can change instead.
