Mainland-Taiwan sign historic agreements

The mainland and Taiwan have signed historic agreements to establish regular direct flights between them, and allow mainland tourists to visit the island.



It means there will be flights between the mainland and Taiwan every weekend, instead of just on national holidays as at present. The two governments are also to set up permanent offices on each other's territory to handle contacts and issue visas.
