Hong Kong's Fu reaches UK Championship final

Fu now goes on to play the winner of Saturday's other semi-final battle between Shaun Murphy of England and Scotland's Stephen Maguire.

The best-of-17 frame match saw Fu 5-2 and 6-4 behind but he started potting the balls at the right times and held his nerve to eventually win the match.

Fu had hit two century breaks in the afternoon but his inconsistency let him down and it was Carter who clearly held the initiative going into the decisive evening session.
