Fireman `beaten, stripped naked' by loan sharks
The eight, aged 26 to 33, were arrested Friday at the offices of a finance company in Sai Yeung Choi Street, Mong Kok, after the fireman, surnamed Yuen, told police his identity card was taken during a scuffle in which his family was threatened.
Yuen, 35, reportedly told the finance company last week he had filed for bankruptcy and could not repay a HK$300,000 debt.
A meeting was arranged for him to discuss a solution but when Yuen turned up at the company's office the following day he said he found himself surrounded by 10 men who demanded payment.
