Money 'stolen' from Shenzhen account
The man, surnamed Wong, discovered the theft two weeks ago. He said he had received a mobile phone text message from the Bank of Communications' Shenzhen branch about the withdrawal. It said that around $2.2 million had been taken from his account. He said he immediately went to the bank to find out about the transaction, and found out that he had only about $14,000 left in the account. He was then told by the bank staff to make a report to the police. However, Mr Wong said up till now, neither the bank nor the Shenzhen police could tell him what had happened.
