Last week, one of Hong Kong’s richest businessmen put his 65-meter yacht, Ambrosia III, up for sale. The sale of the yacht, the city’s biggest, is being handled by Monaco-based brokerage firm Yachting Partners International. (The asking price was not disclosed.)

It was built in 2006 for Ambrous Young (sometimes spelled Ambrose), who runs a diverse holding company called Young Brothers Development Company, a service business that’s involved in “infrastructure investment,” according to the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. He’s extremely low-profile, but he’s probably best-known for his involvement in a U.S. campaign-finance controversy in the 1990s. Italian company Benetti made the boat — it declined to say how much Mr. Young paid — and according to Asia-Pacific Boating magazine, it’s the fifth largest in the region.

Ambrosia III is decorated in a classic Art Deco style, with dark wood finishes and smooth, rounded curves, though it also has some 21st-century detail: In the Stargate dining room, for instance, tiny fiber-optic lights decorate the ceiling, mimicking the constellations in the sky outside (the display adjusts according to the position of the ship). The boat can accommodate up to 12 guests in six cabins, plus a crew of 20.
