Expats in Hong Kong ''enjoy the highest salaries''
On the whole, Britons who move abroad could discover they have a higher earning potential and that their ability to save is also increased, according to new research. The NatWest International Personal Banking Quality of Life Index has revealed that more than half of people originating from the UK who are living or working overseas enjoy a salary of between £50,000 and £100,000.
And the findings could be even better for those considering banking jobs in Hong Kong, as the financial services provider noted that almost half of expatriates employed by businesses in the Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China receive an annual salary of more than £100,000.
Furthermore, 74 per cent of the individuals surveyed revealed that they have seen their disposable income grow since relocating abroad.
Canada was named as the top place to be based in terms of quality of life, with New Zealand, Australia, France and South Africa rounding off the top five.
Meanwhile, Singapore made it into tenth position, while Hong Kong was listed 11th - an improvement on last year's 12th place.
