Europe's climate minister pays two-day visit to Hong Kong - Hong Kong - politics - Connie Hedegaard - environment


European Commissioner for Climate Action Connie Hedegaard will pay a two-day visit to Hong Kong from Wednesday to discuss climate change, the European Union announced Tuesday.



Hedegaard, the EU's first every Commissioner for Climate Action, will meet Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang and Environment Secretary Edward Yau, a statement said.

During her visit, she will take part in a forum on the challenges of climate change in Europe, Hong Kong and southern China, the EU's Hong Kong and Macau office announced.

Hedegaard is also due to deliver a keynote speech titled 'empowering customers in the green economy' at the opening of the 19th Consumer International World Congress on Wednesday.
