The global jewellery industry is in the final stages of preparation for a major trade event, HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show 2012. Meeting the high expectations of the industry for 29 years now, the fair’s 2012 edition is significant in both its timing and its size.

The Asia’s largest Spring Jewellery Show has secured earlier dates – 16-20 February – at the world-class Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. The five-day trade event will host some 3,000 exhibitors from 46 countries & regions.

The undiminished market desire for high-end jewellery is indicated by a 25 per cent growth in exhibitor number in the Hall of Extraordinary, which features exceptional jewellery pieces with high quality stones set in exquisite designs. The diamonds and precious stones section has also increased by 15 per cent. Among them will be hidden gems to be found, as well as classic pieces to be appreciated, like the “The Eternal Collection” jadeite classified to be appropriate for permanent exhibits by the National Museum of mainland China, which is owned by exhibitor Fook Wing Tong Jade & Treasure Limited.

As well as being an important trading platform, the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show will hold a series of seminars and parades during the fair, to disseminate market intelligence on topics such as the “Outlook for Gold in Emerging Markets” and inspire buyers with showpieces on live models.
