PINELLAS COUNTY, FLA—Deputies responded to a residential burglary in progress in the East Lake area of north Pinellas County Saturday about 1 p.m. after a citizen called reporting the window of a neighbor’s house was smashed and the curtains were blowing.

The citizen advised deputies the homeowners were out of town and the window was intact earlier.

Deputies George Moffett and David Littlejohn made entry into the house to search for a suspect. They soon discovered a small amount of fresh blood on the kitchen floor possibly belonging to the intruder while climbing through the smashed window.

At this point they heard banging noises coming from a back bedroom. They started down the hall leading to the room when suddenly a large deer charged out of the room.

The deerm frightened and looking for a way out, began running around the house.  The deputies opened the garage doors and blocked off other areas of the house.  Using towels, they directed the deer toward the open garage door.
