Thai schoolgirls beat up Indian roommate - India - education - Haryana

A class-12 local student at an Indian school was severely beaten up on Saturday night by her Thai roommate and her friends following an altercation over turning off the lights.

The Indian student, from Kurukshetra district of Haryana state, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a private hospital by the school management at midnight and was discharged on Sunday, The Times of India reported

Sources say, the Indian student was studying and didn’t want the lights to be turned off, while her roommate wanted to sleep. Their argument escalated into a fight and led the local student being kicked about by the Thai girl and several of her compatriots.

The Indian student was badly injured in the fight. Some local girls, who came to her aide, received minor injuries. The Thai girls allegedly used their martial art skills to tackle the Indian students.

The injured girl’s father, a professor at Kurukshetra University, immediately sought for filing a complaint with the police against the Thai girls.

However, the school management tried to calm down both the parties.

Principal Sanjiv Menon said the school had set up an in-house committee to investigate the incident, and the culprit would be punished as per the panel’s recommendation.
