to the People of Israel and Members of the Knesset from Professor Shlomo Tzivion, Tel Aviv University

I would like to turn your attention to a very dangerous event that took place at Tel Aviv University. Ultra-left radicals from academic circles convened on April 15, 2010 a congress “Voice of Gaza” at the Faculty of Law of Tel Aviv University.

The congress was led by Professor Uri Hadar, a person who signed almost all petitions of ultra-left radicals. He expressed solidarity to Azmi Bishara ousted from Israel for subversive activities and supported the treacherous activities of Tali Pahima.

Strange that the management of Tel Aviv University allowed this congress. Most benefactors of Tel Aviv University are usually dismayed by meetings of this kind supporting the terrorist organizations Hamas and Hezbollah.

The organizers of this congress say that they are for freedom of speech and expression, but in fact they are turning the university into a tribune for terrorists and supporters of terror. Democracy implies freedom of expression but not at the verge of anarchy.

As always, ultra-lefts, such as, for example, Gideon Levi from the newspaper Haaretz, are trying to fight against Israeli patriots and support terror, Hamas, and Hezbollah. The organizers of this congress and ultra-left professors of Tel Aviv University  are encroaching on the security and interests of the state and people of Israel. The Knesset has to work out a law for punishing traitors of the country.

In 1993, Yeshayahu Leibowitz, Professor of Tel Aviv University, was nominated for the Israel Prize. He was invited to speak to the Israel Council for Israeli-Palestinian Peace. He called Israeli soldiers to refuse orders, applied the term Judeo-Nazi to them, and supported Hamas, which triggered a public outcry and demands to withdraw the nomination. Yitzhak Rabin said that has no right to boycott his nomination, but he will not shake his hand.

I am calling all people supporting the interests of Israel to condemn the ultra-leftist congress by signing this petition.
