2004 law soon to be enforced for hotel, guest house and apartment complex owners
Back in 2004 regulations pertaining to the operation of such
establishments became law. However, the law did not come into force
until 2008. It states that Hotels, Guest Houses and Apartment Complexes
opened after 12th May 2005 must complete registration papers with
Banglamung City Hall before 30th April 2009. Owners who fail to
register their business before this date are liable to prosecution and
the offence carries a maximum sentence of 1 year in Prison and a 20,000
Baht fine.
