The marketing manager of Nong Nooch Village, Najomtien has revealed that 15 Chinese couples have cancelled their wedding ceremonies following advisories from the Chinese government during the current state of emergency.

On 22nd April 2009, Mr. Jiraprueuk So-dorn, said that revealed that the Quality Express Company, which had made reservations for 15 wedding ceremonies in Noong Nooch village, had canceled their booking because the Chinese government had warned them against visiting Thailand during the current political ccrisis.

Only one couple had dared to fly to Thailand to proceed with their wedding as planned. The couple were Mr. Yuxinyi [36 ] and Miss Xzhong Lei [34] , both from Shaing Hai. They wore Thai costumes and sat on an elephant in a procession with the groom's parents. The couple were joined by members of their families.

Mr. Kumpol Tansatja, the director of Nong Nooch, said he had invested money and time to create new concepts and to present Nong Nooch as a first class venue in Thailand. His team had done well in reaching there goal, he said, however the situation today was making it difficult for business owners to survive. As the tourists leave Thailand it is the businesses owners, and not the politicians, who are suffering. He hopes the political situation settles down soon.
