Raining money stops traffic in central Thailand
Drivers in Pathum Thani stopped their cars on Monday morning and rushed to grab 1,000 ($35) baht notes flying from the sky, a local police officer told the newspaper.
Lt. Col. Waroom Thairatthewin said that some tens of thousands baht are believed to have fallen on the road.
He said the happy drivers were asked to hand the notes over to the police in case the mysterious owner submitted a report later. Some drivers agreed to part with their unexpected windfall, which is currently kept at a local police station.
It still remains a mystery where the money came from given that there are no high buildings in Pathum Thani.
