Swedish girl, 9, survives potentially fatal box jellyfish attack near Koh Mak

A nine-year-old Swedish girl narrowly escaped death, after a box jellyfish attacked her this week in the waters of the holiday island Koh Mak in the Gulf of Thailand. According to media reports, only the fast actions of a well-trained Swedish firefighter saved the young girl's life.

A British prisoner, convicted of drug trafficking, is hoping to father his Thai girlfriend's child from behind the bars if officials allow him to enrol on an artificial insemination programme, the Daily Mail reported.
