Phang Nga Bay 'Fun Regatta' gets underway today

PHANGNGA : Thailand's rapidly growing sailing season gets underway in spectacular fashion today when a big fleet of almost 50 boats sets sail to contest the annual Phang Nga Bay Regatta in picturesque southern Thailand.

Phuket - Thailand was voted the favourite sailing venue in Asia and the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta best regatta in Asia, according to a recent survey. The survey found also that the Regatta generated approximately 40 million baht for the Island economy during the 2009 event.
