SRI LANKA- General (retd) Sarath Fonseka yesterday filed a petition in the Supreme Court, requesting that the re-election of Mahinda Rajapaksa as President of Sri Lanka at the Jan. 26 polls be declared void.	COLOMBO, Sri Lanka — Senior Sri Lankan Buddhist monks urged the president on Sunday to release his main rival in last month's presidential election, who was detained on allegations of conspiring to overthrow the government while serving as army chief.
