Seattle celebrity chef Tom Douglas of Tom Douglas Restaurants is among five finalists announced Monday for the 2009 James Beard Foundation’s national Outstanding Restaurateur award.

In the Northwest region, the foundation’s nominees for “Best Chef Northwest” are Maria Hines at Tilth, Joseba Jiménez de Jiménez at the Harvest Vine, Ethan Stowell at Union, Jason Wilson at Crush, all Seattle restaurants, and Cathy Whims at Nostrana in Portland.
