Ballard residents call for city to sweep crime out of area parks
(...) A local businesswoman who wished to remain anonymous said she witnesses what appears to be drug dealing at the parks every day.
"Every single day of the week, every single week of the year," she said. "It goes from early morning from people who sleep in the park, all the way through 2, 4 in the morning."
Area residents want to take a new approach to ward off trouble makers. They're even thinking about piping in opera music, or holding regular meetings of the ladies sewing club at the parks.
Seattle Parks and Recreation said it will investigate the complaints and take appropriate action. The department said it will schedule public meetings to discuss possible solutions.
