Rossi trails championship leader Lorenzo by one point

Valentino Rossi says he is eager to put the first-ever last-place finish of his career behind him in Sunday's Italian MotoGP which takes place at Mugello.

Rossi has won seven years in a row in Italy and is keen to make up for a horror show last time out in France.

"Everything possible went wrong but hopefully that's all our bad luck and at our home race, we'll be back to our best," said the Fiat Yamaha rider.

"I have so many great memories of this race - let's hope to create some more."

Defending world champion Rossi goes into the race one point behind team-mate Jorge Lorenzo, the championship leader, after crashing out in the rain at Le Mans two weeks ago and trailing home in last place.
