I. Fuller description:
Our project's mission is to counter the dire threat to world peace steming from the "Clash of Civilizations" coming to head in and about Jerusalem by massively multiplayer role playing games that will enable individuals to experience the "Civilizations" of Jerusalem from different perspectives, gaining novel realizations that can forge a new future for believers and non believers alike.
The rich historical and cultural heritage of Jerusalem makes it an ideal scenery for high playability truly exciting games - which could very well change the real world history. The proposed Jerusalem Games System might well be the antidot for the Fundamentalisms that threaten a global conflagration. The games could transform the perception of Jerusalem from that of global threat and crisis to the great prophetic opportunity it also represents.
As Internet Games emerge as the new global cultural influence, we envisage cyber-pilgrimage through the medium of computer games, a kind of “World of Peace craft” massively multiplayer role playing games, intended to make peacemaking truly exciting.
This games system applies concepts of pilgrim’s progress and of the dynamics of souls in Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Passing through levels that correspond to actual features of the Old City of Jerusalem and its different periods, participants may pass from egoism to compassion. Of particular interest are team development procedures and “Human Reconstruction” tasks based on 4D and 5D geometry as means for higher/divine consciousness.
A major feature of these games is a "Heavenly Temple" over the Temple Mount as a transparent airborne container for an artificial cloud - providing a 3D display medium for projecting holographic images representing games' results. It'd provide the "Luminous Cloud" - like the one by which the prophet Ezekiel saw the Divine Chariot (4:4-28) and the future Temple (43:1-12), and for the epiphany of "The Son of Man".
II. The problem the idea addresses:
Jerusalem, and specifically the Temple Mount, is the nexus of the Global "Clash of Civilizations" and the most likely cause to trigger the conflict between radical Islam and the West into a world-wide Jihad war. Fundamentalists from all the three monotheistic religions have entrenched apocalyptic views that pit them against each other. It is a classic lose-lose scenario, no "winner" here.
The virtual realization of the Jerusalem old city and Temple can take the edge off the actual conflict, and the participation in the attractive games proposed is a voluntary and most effective way to dare change preconceptions and develop imagination and a cooperative global future.
Whereas any other, conventional, "solution" for the future Temple is likely to raise hell for the whole world, this project will demonstrate the way to realize the prophetic Temple of Jerusalem without disturbing anything extant on the Temple Mount.
If the idea becomes a reality, who would benefit: Firstly the people of the region and in extension all the world peoples.
Helping remove the greatest obstacle for a comprehensive peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians, and by extension all the Arab/Moslem countries, could literaly save millions of lives. All the members of the relevant faith communities would see how their religious convictions can contribute to peace and experience the very name of Jerusalem as the "City of Peace". It will train in conflict-resolution, team-building and cooperative work, foster spiritual communities and world service, enriching the social and spiritual lives of millions of people.
Conducting the virtual pilgrimage will raise interest in its actual performance, boosting tourism manyfold and thus benefiting all of Jerusalem's 750,000 inhabitants, Arabs and Jews. Securing a tithe of 10% from commercial applications for the residents of the Old City of Jerusalem, would enable transforming it from a slum to the world's best location.
III. The initial steps required to get this idea off the ground:
1. Based on the comprehensive and penetrating conceptual work done by the proposer, it is necessary to complete the initial games development package, including full game boards of all games events and procedure with their images, secure the IP rights, and develop a business plan.
2. Develop with appropriate professionals a demo and skeleton/prototype system, concentrating on high playability.
3. Extensive development of the conceptual domain (e.g. playing cards/Tablets containing key statements) and getting religious bodies –Jewish, Moslem and Christian - to endorse and sponsor the plan.
4. Determine whether (a) to develop the games as commercial proprietary systems or (b) as an open-code volunteer work (e.g. Linux).
5. (Assuming 2a) Working with a games development company, build an initial fully functioning games version. Or:
6. (Assuming 2b) Running the Jerusalem games, drawing compatibility specifications and operating a global network of volunteers developing additional games modules according to the specifications.
IV. Optimal outcome when implemented. How would it be measured?
Establishing the realization the Biblical redemptive visions: a global lighthouse (Isaiah 60:1-2), "House of Prayer for all Nations" (Isaiah 56:7) with a "Tabernacle of Peace" overhead (4:5-6). This could realize Jerusalem's name as the CITY of PEACE-WHOLENESS. This could bring a drastic reduction of terrorist activities, supplanting them with a Pilgrimage for Peace.
The potential audience is much wider than of any massively-multi-user network games (e.g. the World of Warcraft – WOW).
V. Measurement of achievment:
Being computer programs, this games system would support many Cyber Measures by automatically monitoring and aggregating games transactions. Examples:
• Number of participants and measures of their involvement.
• Numbers of killings, revivals and "Peace Converts".
• Number of mutual understandings and novel realizations detected.
