Drinking alone in the corner of a Rundle pub, a man wanted for a sexual assault was caught off-guard when officers walked inside and arrested him last night.

Sex Crimes Staff Sgt. Curtis Olson said Michael Peter Nadolnick is charged with sex assault, assault with a firearm, break and enter, kidnapping, unlawful confinement, robbery with a firearm and unlawful possession of a handgun.

A small group of regular patrons inside the neighbourhood watering hole, The Red Pepper Pub in the 4800 block of 26 Ave. N.E., were enjoying after-work drinks when Nadolnick was arrested about 5:15 p.m.

The accused, who isn't a regular patron, sat alone drinking whiskey for about a half-hour before cops arrived, a witness said.
